The Garmin GPS V Deluxe is the latest advancement in Garmin's famous
all purpose design. With the GPS V, you can now have autorouting, which
provides access to the shortest and fastest routes, turn-by-turn
directions (throughout North America, including major cities), and
estimated time of arrival at your intended destination—all packaged in
a small handheld GPS. Along the way, the GPS V provides display prompts
with audible beeps that alert the driver to necessary turns, distance
to upcoming turns, course deviation, and distance to final destination.
The GPS V's built-in, Americas AutoRoute basemap provides
detail for interstates, interstate exit data (USA only), highways,
rivers, and lakes in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, plus
commonly used streets in metropolitan areas. With the press of a
button, the built-in basemap will provide turn-by-turn guidance to a
destination via interstates and highways. With downloaded maps from the
new MapSource City Select CD-ROM,
the GPS V provides turn-by-turn guidance down to residential
street-level detail. Users can also look up services and points of
interest and view the address, phone number, and map location. The GPS
V has 19 megabytes of internal flash memory (not expandable) for
downloading MapSource data from the included CD and provides you with
autorouting capability. The City select map CD has maps for nearly
every town in the United States and even metropolitan areas in Canada.
The GPS V Deluxe comes with full unlock access to all maps contained on
the CD. Operation of the GPS V is a snap with Garmin's legendary
operating system and the display resolution is an incredible 256 x 160
pixels. The GPS V has a powerful 12 parallel channel WAAS receiver,
automatic track log with up to ten saved tracks, plus a detailed trip
computer which provides an odometer, average speed, stopped time, max
speed, total time and more. One year Warranty.
