The Garmin GPSMAP 162 is a fixed mount mapping GPS with an impressive
4.2" diagonal, high contrast, 4 level Gray LCD display with
backlighting for optimum visibility day or night. At the heart of the
GPSMAP 162 is a powerful 12 channel WAAS GPS receiver for top-notch
satellite trackingand accuracy up to 10 feet*. Added to that is a host
of valuable features designed to make your navigation easy and fun. You
can track your position, course, and speed right on the built-in moving
map display which shows a general outline of coastlines, lakes, rivers,
highways and interstates. The GPSMAP 162 even has the ability to accept
up to 2.5 MB of detailed maps uploaded from Garmin's line of optional
MapSource CD-ROM's. You can save up to 500 waypoints for instant
recall, and organize them into any of up to 20 routes for navigating.
The GPSMAP 162 comes with either a built-in antenna for open boat
installations, or a remote antenna with 30' of cable for installations
where the unit will be mounted inside. Standard accessories include
power cable, AC/ PC adapter, mounting bracket, manual and quick ref.
